With the Doctor...

We offer a selection of pre-bookable appointments in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Same-day appointments to see the doctor are made on the day you wish to be seen. You may book an appointment by telephone, by calling the surgery between 08:00 and 9:00. You will be offered an appointment with your doctor in their 'on the day clinic' which will be between 9am & 11am.

Appointments are normally for 10 minutes per person. You may be asked to make a double appointment for lengthy or complicated problems by your doctor. These cannot be requested by yourself.

Extended hours

We also offer early morning appointments on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. These are available for those workers who find it difficult to make an appointment during the working day to see their GP. These appointments must be booked in advance.

Please note that there is a restricted service available at these times as there is no nurse available.

With the Practice Nurses & Healthcare Assistants

The practice nurses and health care assistants can be seen by appointment between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday. Early morning appointments are generally reserved for blood tests.

The nurses provide a comprehensive range of general nursing services. These include minor illness clinics, cervical smears, family planning, healthy living, high blood pressure, immunisations, foreign travel advice, sexual health, smoking cessation and also advice on the long-term management of chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease.

The healthcare assistant undertakes a lot of the routine treatment room work such as phlebotomy, flu jabs, ECG's, patient health checks and simple dressings.

Telephone Advice

If you think a doctor or nurse can deal with your problem over the telephone, the receptionist will arrange for the appropriate person to call you back. This could be the most efficient use of time for you, the doctor or nurse.

(Please note: antibiotics are not normally prescribed without examination).

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can also cancel your appointments online.
