Appointments

All pre-bookable doctor and nurse appointments can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance.  Blood test appointments with our HCA or phlebotomist are available to book online.

If you have not yet registered for online access then drop by the surgery with some photo ID and the receptionists will provide you with your login details.

With Doctor
Since June 2021 we have offered patients the choice of a face to face or telephone consultation.

All GP appointments currently need to be booked via reception.

The receptionist will ask for the reason for your appointment, and may ask whether it is clinically urgent, to enable them to select the most appropriate appointment for you. This may be to book with your GP a few days away or have an appointment with a different GP.

Patients requiring urgent medical attention will be offered a same day phone back and it will be for the GP to decide whether they need to be seen in person. For these appointments you may not be able to speak to your own GP.

All telephone appointments will be for a call back at any time in the morning or afternoon. The GP will try to call you no more than twice and if you miss the call you will need to rebook. Please let the receptionist know if there are any times when you know you won’t be available

Face to face appointments will be for a specific 10 minute time slot.

With Nurse and HCA
Our nurses offer a range of services which run throughout the day. There are some clinics which we run on set days.
These clinics include child immunisation, wound dressing and influenza vaccination. When not running clinics the nurses provide services such as cervical smears, healthy living advice, foreign travel advice, long-term management of chronic disease such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and renal impairment.

The healthcare assistant (HCA) also runs clinics for blood tests, INR monitoring and NHS Health Checks. They also do ECG's, blood pressure checks, simple dressings, influenza vaccinations, Vitamin B12 injections and ear syringing. These are run Tuesday - Friday.

  Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can also cancel your appointments online.

If you ring and cancel and appointment within 30 minutes, it will not be able to be cancelled and will be marked as a Did Not Attend (DNA) as we will be unable to fill the appointment.

The pressures on GP Practices are becoming increasingly high. It is vital that our clinicians' time is used efficiently and the less DNAs they have the more patients they can see.
