Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance

The NHS operate a zero tolerance policy with regard to violence and abuse and the practice has the right to remove violent patients from the list with immediate effect in order to safeguard practice staff, patients and other persons.

We are very disappointed to report that our staff are increasingly being shouted and sworn at by patients.

There is absolutely no excuse for this behaviour and will not be tolerated by the Practice.

Our staff must be able to come to work without fear of violence, abuse or harassment from patients or their relatives.

Staff faced with patients who act in a violent, threatening or abusive manner, including shouting or swearing, are advised to ask them to leave the premises / end the phone call. The Police may be called.

All incidents are reported to the Practice Manager and the patient’s GP and patients may be removed from our patient list.
